15 week update

Today is our 5 year anniversary! I can't believe it's been 5 years already. They sure have flown by.  We went to Midway last weekend and stayed at the Zermatt. It was so nice to get away and just relax. We didn't do anything too exciting. I was in bed both nights by 7-7:30. I know that is lame, but this prego lady was wiped out. Good thing Adam is such a trooper and was fine just hanging out.

I came across this awesome idea while looking at another blog and thought it would be a great way to document my pregnancy in an organized way.
Don't mind the horrible selfie. I admire people who can get a good pic of themselves.
How far along? 15 Weeks
Total weight gain: 3lbs.  (Pre-pregnancy weight 136lbs, lost 3 lbs.)
Maternity clothes? Pants yes. I can still fit into a few pair of regular jeans but they tend to squish my babes when I sit. I'm still wearing regular shirts and some maternity tanks (GAP Body tanks rock!). Most of the time i just look chubby.
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: Still tired most of the time. I usually go to bed around 8:00pm if I can keep my eyes open that long. I will wake up a few times a night usually around 1or 2am. Sometimes I go back to sleep and toss and turn, other nights I’m up until 5 or 6 am.
Best moment this week: Getting to see my sweet babies at my appt. Baby A was squishing Baby B into a corner, so once again I didn't get a very good look. I have a feeling Baby A is going to be the bully.
Miss Anything?  Having an appetite
Movement: Nothing yet
Food cravings: Nothing. I’m still waiting to have a craving or just enjoy food again. I am constantly trying to find something that sounds good to eat and end up settling because nothing sounds good. Life could be so much worse though.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Meat of any kind is still a little iffy. I am still choosing my food choices by what will come up easiest (sorry TMI…)
Gender: So far my Dr. is pretty sure Baby A is a boy, and Baby B is a mystery still (I’m holding out for a girl).
Labor Signs: Nope.
Symptoms: Still having waves of vomiting, hopefully this will resolve sooner than later.
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Not moody per say. I did have my first pregnant emotional break down last week. Adam came home from teaching and I started telling him about my day. I had to track down a package, my sister couldn’t go to Zupa’s with me and something else put me over the edge. I was just bawling on the couch while Adam just laughed at me. Good thing I wasn’t really upset about anything and could laugh it off.
Looking forward to: Finding out the sex of our babes for sure. I feel like I need to start getting car seats and such, but want to be sure of the genders before I make that commitment.

Pregnancy update

Sorry about all  of the pregnancy posts, but that's what my life consists of these day. I am 14 wks today and can finally breath easier. I think these babes are here to stay. I had my first OB appt Sept 24. I am seeing the Ob I used to work for and I absolutely love her, she's the BEST! Babies both looked great, they actually looked like babies instead of sea creatures. It was hard to get a good pic of baby B because baby A was squishing it. I love getting to see them wiggling around and hearing their heart beats.
As for me; nausea has pretty much gone away, but I've been throwing up since 10 wks. No matter what trick or medication I try it still happens. It could be so much worse though. Even at 14 weeks I am still having this problem a few times a week. So far I haven't gained any weight, but I'm sure it'll happen sooner than later. As for now, life is good and I am so thankful for these babies everyday (even on the bad ones). Our journey to get here has really helped me not take this blessing for granted. Until next time

XOXO

First U/S

Don't worry, I am still here and alive, I think. So far nausea is beating fatigue by a mile. I can no longer swallow any sort of pill with out it coming right back up. Food sucks most of the time, but I'm not complaining. I had my very first ultrasound today (Aug 28th), so exciting! Not only did I get to see my babe, I got to see it's brother or sister. That's right folks, we are having TWINS! Shock does not even come close to describing what is going through my mind. Seriously, who decided I could be trusted with not only one, but two babies? Well... both little gummies looked good and healthy. Heart beats were in the high 120's-130's. They each have their own sacks, so fraternal twins it is. Holy crap... I am having twins, that means two little squeeshy beans. I am 7 weeks today (well that what babies are measuring), estimated due date is April 16, 2014. I am so excited, and can't wait to see how this goes. Fingers crossed that they both behave and stay put tight until I am ready for them to come out.

Results are in

...Since our babes look like they are sticking around, I thought I'd share a few post I wrote when I found out I was preg...

IUI #3 is done, and done. For some reason it felt different than the previous two. I felt every little thing the NP did, and I was actually excited. This last part even shocked me. I haven't felt excited about anything since we started trying 19 months ago, so this my friends was a welcome emotion! I told Adam that this was going to be it, #3 would bring us our miracle.
About a week after my IUI was done, I started feeling like I was getting the flu, just yucky feeling. I went to visit my sister for a few days and was completely exhausted most of the time. I got home on Thursday and decided I would take a preg test just for fun (9 days post ovulation, and 5 days before my scheduled blood test). I stared at that thing for an eternity hoping for something to show up, nothing. I threw it in the trash and started preparing myself for bad news. After an hour I pulled it out and looked again, this time there was a faint positive. I decided to test the next day and see if it was getting lighter or darker. I test the next morning and again, nothing. I check again 30 min later and it was positive again, this time a little darker. I checked the next day and waited the full 3 min and it was a little darker than before. All this time, i kept my little secret to myself. I tested a few days later with a digital and it came up pregnant! I called my Dr. office and moved my blood work appt to that day and waited patiently for the MA to call me with the results. After a few hours the results were in.... PREGNANT! You heard me right, baby in my belly!!!!

Now that I was 100% positive that my eyes weren't fooling me, I needed to tell Adam. He told me earlier that morning that he broke his shaver, in my mind I was already scheming. I bought a new razor and made a card that said "One made it!", on the other side it said "Hi Dad, I can't wait to meet you!". I waited for him to get home and made him go check out the new razor (I had set the card in front of it with the positive test). He just looked at it and said "you're sure?" Funny guy.

We are both cautiously optimistic at this point. As of today I was 4 weeks and 3 days. I go back to my fertility Dr. Aug 28th (7 weeks) to check for viability. Fingers crossed that my little bean is settling down for the long haul. As of now, I am feeling pretty good. I am tired, have a little bit of insomnia and am crampy, but all is well. I just pray that we can make it to 13 weeks. Until then I think I will be very nervous.
Miracles happen, and dreams come true!
